#### SX serves three primary purposes:

1. Gas Fees: SX is the native token to SX Network, gas fees are paid in SX.
2. Staking: To participate in governance votes, token holders must first stake (i.e. lock up) their tokens. In return for giving up liquidity, token holders that stake tokens earn staking rewards.&#x20;
3. Governance: SX allows token holders to control all the parameters of the SX protocol smart contracts through the governance interface.&#x20;
